Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas has emphasized the importance of separating politics from good governance to promote the development of the state. This, he said is something he has been doing since he assumed office as governor of the state in a bid to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people. He made this statement at a well-attended Peoples Democratic Party PDP’s meeting in Jalingo to discuss upcoming party congresses and delegates elections.
Governor Kefas expressed his gratitude to party stalwarts for their help during his first year in office while reiterating his commitment to providing good governance. He noted that Taraba has always supported the PDP, and it’s crucial to maintain that standard.
Responding, the State’s PDP Chairman, Elder Nuhu Abe, praised Governor Kefas for resolving past leadership issues in the party and enhancing members welfare. He also appreciated the party’s efforts in recruiting new members, including many from the opposition.
The meeting included prominent figures like Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, Senators Haruna Manu and Shaibu Lau, and several House of Representatives members. The meeting thereafter broke into a closed-door session.
