The Taraba Road Construction and Maintenance Agency (TARCMA) , was established in 2007 and is currently under leadership of Engr. Daniel Orduega Akaalian as the Managing Director.


Current Directors in the Agency with their respective Departments include;

  1. Abdullahi MAfindi – Civil Engineering.
  2. Danladi Ashumate – Plant/Equipment.
  3. Umar Mohammed – Finance.

Functions of the Agency:

The functions of the Agency include;

  1. Construction of State Roads.
  2. Maintenance of existing state roads.
  3. Making policy recommendation to State Government on State Roads.
  4. Bid for Maintenance of Federal Roads.
  5. Assist other MDAs on Road Development.
  6. Conduct other Construction activities as directed.
Achievements of the Agency:

The Agency has had the following achievements stated below;

  • Rehabilitation of Jalingo-Sunkani Federal Roads – 2007.
  • Rehabilitation of Mutum-biyu-Garba Chede Road – 2007.
  • Rehabilitation of Wukari-Takum Federal Road – 2007.
  • Extension of Jalingo Airport – 2011.
  • Construction of Ganye Road in Jalingo – 2011.
  • Construction of Suntai Airstrip – 2012.
  • Construction of Yerima-Gassol Road (27km) – 2013.
  • Construction of 40km road each in Sunkani, Jalingo, Pantisawa, Lau, Zing and Karim-lamido.

Mr Daniel Orduega Akaalian

Engr. Daniel Orduega Akaalian, the Managing Director-TARCMA, was born on 3rd June, 1964. He hails from Wukari Local Government Area and is married with four (4) children.

Engr. Orduega began his educational career at L.G.E.A Primary School, Aka’a from 1971-1977 and enrolled into Government Secondary School, Wukari from 1977-1982. He then proceeded to University of Illorin, from 1982-1987.

Professional Achievements:

Achievements gained by Engr. Orduega include;

  • He is a Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE) – 1998.
  • COREN Registered – 2000.
  • Member, Institute of Appraisers and Cost Engineers (MIACE) – 2012.
  • CERTIFIED Procurement Officer – 2013.
  • Engineering Regulation Monitoring (ERM) for COREN. 2010-2012.
