Governor Darius Ishaku has presented six Toyota Camry vehicles to State Court Judges in Taraba State.
In a brief ceremony at the Government House, Jalingo, Governor Ishaku made the disclosure that the vehicles were acquired by the Government In fulfilment of the request made by the Chief Judge, Justice Josephine Tuktur to ease the challenge of logistics encountered by the Judges in the discharge of their duties.
“I promised to provide you with vehicles when our financial status improve. Our commitment to that has been met today. It is my hope that our Lordships will be galvanized by this gesture to discharge your duties effectively having met your needs”.
Earlier, Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of the State, Barr. Yusuf Akirukwem represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Antiyang Shitta, applauded the Governor for being gracious to the judiciary.
He stressed that the purchase of the
vehicles was an indication that the Government is committed to alleviating the problem of logistics faced by Judges.
“Your Excellency, we are grateful for this gesture and I assure you that it will in no small measure enable our Judges to effectively dispense cases particularly in situations where speed is required”.
Meanwhile, in a related development, Governor Ishaku presented three Toyota Hilux utility vehicles to security agencies in the State. This is coming on the heels of the earlier presentation of vehicles to security outfits to boost security in the State.
